The Project
Creating visuals that transport the viewer to another world allows art to transcend reality, offering an escape into imagined spaces shaped by mood, colour, and perspective.
Desert Dreams is a personal project that I created to experiment with and further my skills in sketching and digital illustration.
The Process
Inspired by retrowave style artwork, Desert Dreams started as a sketch on paper, a perspective drawing in pencil that I scanned and traced manually into vector form. I then used gradients to colourise it, adhering to a strict but cohesive colour palette.
The Outcome
A transformed traditional perspective sketch, now a digital artwork that explores atmosphere, nostalgia, and altered perception, using bold colour and surreal aesthetics to evoke a sense of immersion beyond ordinary reality.
